Connected apps
Let an app upload to your copium.pics account without copying a token, and see or remove it later.
A connected app is a program on your computer that uploads to your copium.pics account for you, without you copying and pasting a token. You connect it once with a short code, and you can disconnect it any time.
Apps you can connect:
- The Stream Deck plugin.
- Clink, the Windows clipper and screenshot app from Euphoric Software (Clink 0.4.4 and later).
- Sonoran CAD, for teams. When you connect it, you choose whether its uploads go to your own library or to a team library.
A connected app is not the same as a ShareX or API token. You create those yourself on the ShareX & API page and paste them into a tool. A connected app gets its own separate connection, so your ShareX setup isn't affected.
Connect an app
Start from the app
In the app, start connecting. In Clink, press Sign in with Copium (see Share to Copium). In the Stream Deck plugin, press Connect account. The app shows a short code and opens copium.pics/connect in your browser.
Sign in if asked
If you aren't signed in to copium.pics, sign in. You come straight back to the connect page.
Check the code
Make sure the code on the page matches the one shown in the app. If it doesn't, press Cancel.
Read what it can do
The page tells you what the app will be able to do. For Clink, it also shows the name the connection will appear under, next to Will appear as (set by the app).
Press Connect
Press Connect. The page says the app is connected, and you can go back to it. Press Cancel instead if you don't want to connect it.
A code only works for 10 minutes. If it expires or has already been used, start connecting in the app again to get a new one.
What a connected app can do
A connected app can:
- Upload files to your account.
- Check the status of an upload it made.
- Shorten links.
- Read your account details, such as your name, plan and storage use.
- Sign itself out, which removes its own connection.
That is all. A connected app can't list, edit or delete your uploads, albums, boards or settings.
Stay safe
Only approve a code you just started
Only press Connect if you just started the connection yourself, from an app on your own computer. For Clink, the page says to approve only if you just pressed Sign in with Copium on that PC.
- Clink's name is set by Clink. The name next to Will appear as (set by the app) comes from the app, not from copium.pics. Use it to recognise the connection later.
- Watch for the network warning. If the page says the sign-in was started from a different network, and you didn't just start it yourself, press Cancel.
- Didn't start it? Press Cancel. Nothing is connected.
See and remove connected apps
Open the ShareX & API page. Under Connected apps you see each connection as the app name, a dot and its name, such as "Clink · My PC". If the name already starts with the app name, only the name is shown. Each row shows when it was connected and when it was last used.
A Sonoran CAD connection to a team library isn't listed here. Remove it from the team's Integrations tab.
To remove one, press Disconnect on its row and confirm. The app stops working until you connect it again.
An app can also disconnect itself. In Clink, signing out removes its connection from your list.
If you connect the same app again with the same name, the new connection replaces the old one.
