The Discord bot
Add Copium to Discord to save files, shorten links, share uploads, set reminders and sync a Google Calendar.
The Copium Discord bot lets you save Discord files before their links expire, shorten links, post your uploads and set reminders, without leaving Discord. Discord file links stop working about a day after they leave Discord, but Copium links don't.
Add the bot
On the Apps page of copium.pics, in the Discord bot section, you have two choices:
- Add to my apps. The commands work for you in every server and in direct messages, even in servers where the bot isn't added.
- Add to a server. Everyone in that server gets the commands, including
/calendarand/keepthreads, which only work in servers. This adds the commands only. Calendar sync and/keepthreadsalso need the Copium bot itself in the server: use Add the Copium bot to your server on the Google Calendar page.
The Copium commands and the Save to Copium option need a Copium account that was created with Discord. If you don't have one, the bot tells you to sign in at Copium with that Discord account. See Your account and plans. If your account is suspended you see "Your Copium account is suspended."
Replies are usually private, so only you see them.

Save to Copium
Right-click a message, choose Apps, then Save to Copium. Copium saves up to 10 of the message's files and gives you permanent links. It works anywhere the bot is available to you, including direct messages.
Reminders
/remindme sends you a reminder after a time you choose.
timeis how long from now, such as10m,1h30minor2 days. It can be anything from 1 second to 366 days.messageis what to remind you about.channelis optional. By default the reminder appears where you set it, and if Copium can't post there it sends you a private message instead.- You can have up to 25 reminders at a time.
/reminders lists them, with an optional page. /delreminder cancels one by its number (id) or, with all set to true, every reminder you have across all servers and direct messages. Message the bot directly with /reminders to see all of them, not just the ones from the current server.
Invite friends
/refer shows your invite link. Set post to true to post an invite card in the chat for friends to click. You and friends who join through your link both get Copium+ days. The reward is normally 7 days, and the friend has to meet a few conditions first, such as uploading a few files, so check the amount in the app.
Set up Google Calendar
/calendar is for servers where the Copium bot has been added, and only people with the Manage Events permission see it. It syncs a Google Calendar to the server as Discord events, a live daily or weekly schedule and reminders before things start. You sign in with Discord, then connect your Google account on copium.pics. The page is also reachable from Account under Google Calendar. Copium only reads calendars and can't change them, and private events are never shown.
A free account can sync 1 calendar per server with 1 reminder time. Copium+ allows 5 calendars and 3 reminder times, and also reminds at each event's own Google notification times. Whether Copium+ applies depends on the member whose Google account is used.
Autosave
Autosave saves every file posted in a channel to Copium, so the files don't expire when Discord's links do. It is a Copium+ feature.
- On the Apps page, in the Discord bot section, under Auto-save a channel, follow the add the bot to your server link. The invite asks for View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links, Read Message History and Add Reactions.
- In the channel you want to save, run
/copium autosave on:True.
Who can set it up: you need Manage Channels (or Administrator) in that server, a Copium account created with Discord, Copium+, and to have accepted the upload rules. Run it in a server channel, not in a direct message. If the bot isn't in the server, the command gives you the invite link.
What gets saved: every file anyone posts in that channel, up to 10 files per message and 20 files per channel per minute. Files from bots and webhooks are skipped. Each file is titled with its name and who posted it, and goes to your Copium account, or your team's library if your uploads go there. The bot replies to the message with the permanent links. Each channel belongs to one person. If someone else runs the command in the same channel, the files go to their account from then on.
Autosave pauses without a message if the person who set it up loses Copium+ or the rules are no longer accepted.
To turn it off, run /copium autosave on:False in the channel.
Keep threads open
/keepthreads stops threads from archiving on their own. It posts a silent message that is then deleted, so the thread stays active. It needs the Manage Channels permission and works in servers only. The Copium bot must be in the server with View Channel and Send Messages in Threads. Invite it to private threads. A server can keep threads open in up to 25 channels.
/keepthreads enablewith achannel(the parent channel; search by name, category or ID) and optionaldaysof idleness before it acts (1 to 30, default 1)./keepthreads disablewith achannel./keepthreads listshows the channels set up and any errors, with an optionalpage.
Limits
Saving, shortening, searching and /refer can be used up to 8 times a minute. After that you see "That's a lot of commands - wait a minute and try again." Wait a minute and try again.
Some commands need you to have accepted the upload rules first.
Sign in with Discord
The bot and /calendar only work with a Copium account created with Continue with Discord. Accounts created with Google or an email and password can't be linked to Discord. A Discord account can add Google or a password later on the Account page.
When you sign in with Discord, Discord accounts less than 7 days old can't sign in. See Your account and plans.
