Yes. The browser app, the Windows beta and encrypted sync are free, with no paid tier. Sync has the limits above while Kithnote is in beta, and features and limits can change. See the beta terms.

Not yet. There's no way to insert images, and ![alt](url) appears as a link. Import skips images and other files, and sync doesn't carry attachments.

No. Notes in Trash stay there until you restore them, including the copy in your sync vault. The only way to remove a note from the cloud is to delete the vault. Trash is also left out of Export notebook and counts toward the 10,000-note sync limit.

Links use the note's title and aren't updated when you rename. Edit the [[links]], or rename the note back. Unmatched links appear in the graph as Not written yet.

No. Folders are a single flat list. Imported nested folders become one folder with a name such as Projects/Alpha.

It finds notes containing the exact words you type, in the title or text, and shows the first 20. There are no search operators.

Diagrams must be Mermaid, written as a mermaid code block in Write mode. Maths, ==highlights== and ![[embeds]] aren't supported. Code blocks aren't colour-highlighted.

There's no Mac, Linux, iPhone or Android app yet. The browser app at kithnote.app/notes works in modern browsers on those systems, and the Windows x64 beta is the only installed app.

Browser notes live in that browser's site storage. Clearing site data for kithnote.app, or using a different browser, profile or private window, shows a different (or empty) notebook. If you had sync set up, connect again with your connection kit. Otherwise import a Markdown export.

Only one tab can hold the notebook at a time. Close the other tab and try again.

It can't be reset or recovered, by you or by us. If you synced before, a saved connection kit or another unlocked device may still have your notes. See Security and privacy.

Hover over the button to read the message. Check you're online and that the connection kit is the current one. If you used Revoke old connection kits, devices need the new kit. Revoking doesn't change the encryption key (see Sync). See Sync.

You edited a note on two devices before they synced. Both versions were kept, and the copy is called "(conflict copy)". Combine them by hand and move the extra one to Trash.

Delete all your cloud vaults first, type DELETE, and sign in again if your session is more than ten minutes old. See Your account.

That's expected while publisher signing is pending. See Windows app.
